Resource: Podcast on Meditation

Studies have shown time and time again the positive benefits of some form of meditation practice. Mindfulness based practices benefit us in two different directions - from a preventative stand point and as in the moment skills. When we practice some form of mindfulness regularly, it is preventative in that it helps our overall stress level to remain lower than if we didn’t have that routine. On the other hand, when we practice something mindful regularly, even when not stressed, we are more likely to be able to access it and use it in times of heightened emotion or stress. Although mindfulness and meditation can appear simple from the outside observer, it can be a bit daunting to get started if you aren’t sure how.

The resource I am sharing this week is a really good podcast episode on meditation, including the science behind it and how it might fit into your life. The episode is called “How Meditation Works & Science-Based Effective Meditations” and it comes from the Huberman Lab podcast.
